Start With The Kitchen (Big Impact, Small Effort)

Refrigerator Coils

  • Pull the fridge away from the wall
  • Unplug it
  • Vacuum and brush off dust buildup

Why it matters: Dirty coils force your fridge to work harder → higher energy bills + shorter lifespan.

Quick Fridge Check

  • Replace the water filter (every 6 months)
  • Inspect door seals for leaks
  • Wipe down gaskets with warm, soapy water

A tight seal = better cooling and lower energy use.

Oven & Burners

  • Remove built-up spills (before they keep burning)
  • Check burners for uneven heating
  • Inspect gas lines for wear

Small issues here can turn into bigger (and more expensive) problems if ignored.

Dishwasher Filter

  • Usually located at the bottom
  • Remove and rinse thoroughly
